will be installing my summer tires and wheels without the tpms in them, [ screw the light ]. when I put the stock wheels and tires back on this fall will the reset button turn the light off after being off the truck for that long.

 

Yes, and if you can put the stock tires near where you park, like front of garage that way the comp. will read you're sensers when you park.
When you leave, you'll be able to drive for awhile before the light goes on.

I do this and can drive the 20mi to work, leave truck parked all day and drive home without the light coming on.

 

Don't touch the button.
Resets the low pressure threshold.
Should never have to touch it.
