So basically i tried to install undersea leds and a switch to turn them on and off. I had gotten the switch to work, but i grounded it twice with the negative going to the radios ground, and the switch ground to the chassis. NOW what am i supposed to do....? all i know is that the 12v's aren't working, as well as the power mirrors and the power wire for the radio... any ideas? please help I'm quite clueless - I've gone ahead and tried to find the wire thats faulty by taking apart the dash and poking around with a multimeter
if it helps i have a 2010 tacoma ted off road. And i have checked the fuses!

Check your fuses. Probably one or more of those have gone. You may not have damaged wiring.

ive checked every fuse again and again... sadly i really do wish it was just a fuse, i've been doing some research and i may have to replace a relay somewhere is my best guess?

Check all the fuses. Not just the radio or mirrors.

Who know what you shorted when you wired it up.

For something like this you will need to follow the source 12v and see where it stops. Not going to be much fun if it is not one of the fuses.

Not sure if there are more body control modules in the newer models. Maybe you took one of those out.

Just to clarify there are two fuse boxes on the tacoma one underhood and one near the steering column.

yes, i know about these two boxes... and every fuse works as it should. However the 12v ac plugs don't work and neither do the power mirrors and alongwith worst of all the radio power.
As best as i can gather from toyotas with similiar problems is it could be a relay.

You need to check the ACC Fuse. The ACC Fuse is Common to All of the things that are not working in your truck: Stereo, Power Mirrors, Cig Lighter, Shift Lock and Power Point Outlets. Remove the fuse from the fuse panel and read it with a meter or just replace it with a new 7.5 ampere fuse.

This is what is powered by this 7.5 ampere ACC fuse:

7.5A ACC Located in the fuse panel behind the change drawer to the left of the steering wheel.

    Audio System (Built–in Type Amplifier)
    Audio System (Separate Type Amplifier)
Cigarette Lighter and Power Outlet (12V)
    Clock
    Remote Control Mirror
    Shift Lock

Can you shift it out of Park?

Jimmy is right - check the ACC fuse. If your 12V and clock aren't working along with your radio, that ACC fuse might be the culprit.

You need to actually pull the fuse when you look at them. I've missed alot of burnt fuses just looking at them without removal.

Yes, um i checked the fuses with a multimeter... can anyone provide insight into the wiring though? there must be a point hwere all three wires could get fried.

Strangely enough, I recently blew my ignition fuse. When it blew, I got a bunch of weird lights on the gauges, my windows wouldn't work, my acc stuff didnt work, but my truck would still crank. And they're right. pull the fuses out and look at them. You can still see power using the multimeter even if the fuse is blown. I had the same thought with mine until I pulled it out and swapped it.

I just went through the wiring diagram again and the Only Common point between all of these is the Fuse Panel 7.5 Ampere ACC Fuse.

Why do you think you burned the wires? The fuse is there to prevent the wires from burning. If you shorted the hot wire and the fuse isn't blown I would be shocked.
