The same shit everyone else has.
First off, on 2011 and up trucks, you cannot use the key sequence to disable the seat belt beeper/light. It needs to be done by the dealer. I don't have time to go to the dealer to have it turned off. I do however have the 10 minutes it took to do this DIY. Also, I wanted to retain the beeper/warning to remind passengers to wear their seat belts so permanently disabling the warning system wasn't an option. Pretty simple.

DISCLAIMER - ALWAYS WEAR YOUR SEAT BELT BLAH BLAH BLAH. You know the drill. I found a case of beer will set off the passenger seatbelt light. I did this so I could put stuff on the seat and not look at the light blinking. (This will work with the driver side if you don't like wearing your seat belt but you didn't hear this from me)

My idea came from this thread - http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/261274-how-turn-off-seatbelt-alarm.html where I found this link - http://www.ebay.com/itm/TRD-Seat-Belt-Control-Buckle-Clasp-Insert-Plug-Eliminate-Stop-Alarm-Fit-Toyota-/360624740483?ViewItem=&vxp=mtr&item=360624740483&nma=true&si=pmjE7VIx41i4KFsP0yJyDimlwak%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 for these -

I decided it was something easy enough to just make instead of wasting 12$ on.

    Materials

    - Old credit card, gift card, plastic stock, ect.
    - Scissors
    - Exacto blade
    - Sharpie or pen
    - Sand paper
    - Paint

    Step 1

Trace seatbelt plug onto card w/ sharpie -

    A4AD74C0-AD48-4081-8750-B78398345206_zps_0f95b03cef6f8f2af20970a181ced6c316a5264b.jpg

    Step 2

Cut out seat plug with scissors & Exacto blade -

    720182D2-8605-4E89-86B8-8010C7CFD9BF_zps_e2c7bf6e6b9ab21c6e12cf2cb3fdc571cf7c7524.jpg

    Step 3

Sand it down so paint will stick -

    5AFFD028-8234-4EE0-B72B-DDDCF86A650D_zps_bda80c05b714bd2e01beb14bf0bbfdcec6f57477.jpg

(I decided it was too long so I trimmed it at the line I drew)

    Step 4

    Test fit -

    1606179F-9432-4C61-A3DA-EC59F2DD2EF8_zps_3927ac8ae6a7cffd1e8188c6ebd875256ed93007.jpg

It should click in place just like the seatbelt does. When it clicks in, the light should go out. When you hit the button, it should pop out just like the seat belt does and the light should come back on.

If it doesn't fit, adjust accordingly. I had to sand some edges to smooth everything out.

    Step 5

Paint w/ your choice of color. I used flat black -

    56CEFDE6-FBBF-4016-8864-9EAB387D1BAD_zps_e765c12b785a47133fb4207be54a3b3f2541dd96.jpg

Its currently hanging in the garage drying. I'll have finished pictures tomorrow after work.

    Step 6

Enjoy the lack of beeping and blinking lights while hauling things in the passenger seat.

Dude, save urself from being ejected or killed and just buy the techstream software n plug on eBay, it will take u less time to do it properly through ecu than tracing, measuring cutting than you took here.

I fail to see the connection between what OP did vs disabling it with software saving himself from being ejected? His mod was also FREE.

I still say take it to the dealership and have them disable it... If they refuse, file a complaint with corporate and take it to another dealership. Mine did it free of charge, no hassle at all.

If I wanted it turned off permanently, I'd go to the dealer. I do NOT want it turned off, I want to be able to put heavier things like an 85 pound dog or what ever on the passenger seat and not have to look at the light blinking. The last time I checked, the dog wasn't a fan of being buckled in.

Id love to hear more about the ejection and killing?

I wouldn't want to deal w asking a dealer either, don't blame the op. But these plugs are a hack.

Free?? lolz please the software n cable are $35 that should hardly "break the bank" here.

My 80 pound dog doesn't fit in the seat. Not sure how urs will. Good luck!

    The better coast
Why don't you just keep the seat belt clicked in.......? Oh wait, that's too simple

You can always go to a junk yard and get the end bit off the seat belt and use that to click in. Cardboard has a tendency to rip, then you cant get a seat belt into it.

    Disable Seatbelt Warning Chime
    1. Turn the Car 'ON', but do not start the engine (Leave your foot off the brake). Cycle your trip reset knob until it reads ODO. Turn the ignition back off. Wait a couple of seconds.
    2. Make sure seat belt is not fastened
    3. Turn the ignition back on, do not start the car (Leave you foot off the break) As soon as you see everything light up, press and hold the trip reset knob and do a long 12 second count.
    4. Keep your finger on the trip reset knob. Fasten your seat belt, as soon as you fasten your seat belt, you should see the ODO display go from XXXX miles to "b-on". At that time take your finger off the trip reset knob and press it again. It should cycle to "b-off". You should be all set and turn the ignition off and unfasten your seat belt.

    ;)

    LOL. You guys are funny.

The key sequence doesnt work on some 2011. I tried. Multiple times. As mentioned.

Lots of other things were mentioned in my OG post that many of you missed as well.

This DIY works well for what I need it to do.

So just did the beep off key sequence on my truck. beep is gone but light still lights up when moving in the seat. I just installed leather seats in my truck and accidently pulled a wire out of one of the plugs underneath the driver seat. I re seated it and crimped back down the plug but ever since my seat belt warning will get tripped in short bursts. Any other way to fix this?
