So some jackass parked right next to me and in my attempt to scootch I to my truck my knife clip scratched my truck. It looks like it took out the clear coat because I can rub my finger nail over the scratch and with the scratch it goes down then at the end of the scratch it goes back up.

Now I tried polishing it, then waxing it and it did make it look better but still painfully there. I'm wondering if getting 1,500-2,000 grit sand paper would help or am I going to need to do something more advanced? The second photo is more accurate to how it looks, I dunno why my phone rotated the photo on uploading though.

get touchup paint pen, and just go over it lightly to blend it in.

This^^ but if it just scraped the clear coat, i dunno how much it will help... I defiantly wouldn't use sand paper! Not to be a dick, but this must be a new truck? I would just brush it off your shoulders and forget it. "its a truck" and it going to happen. Id be willing to bet not a single person will ever notice...ever....
