    Hey Brett,

Are you still leak free? I've never seen that heater control valve go bad before... so now I've got another thing to keep an eye on in my engine bay!

So far no drips, I have been paying close attention to it all weekend.

I also threw a short length of 5/8" and 1/2" copper pipe in the tool box as a backup in case of catastrophic failure... Should be able to repair most hose issues and leaky valves with that.

Soo, to explain this little outburst...
My wife and I split up, going through a divorce, probably obvious to some. It was mutual and has been discussed for the last two years. We basically stayed together the last two years for our daughter to finish high school without any attached drama. She graduated in December.
We are friends and probably always will be. There is no resentment.
The bummer part was the actual moving her out. Even knowing about it for so long didn't make it any easier. It was rough on both of us but had to be done. Those two days were the worst ever.
It was just tough to watch our relationship come to an end.
I'm not trolling for sympathy, I just felt the need to explain.
We had basically grown apart, and were leading separate lives, it didn't seem fair to either one of us, so the split.

Now back to the modding and ensuing comedy that is Tacoma World ;)

I have a set of 37's on my Scout and love 'em.

Will these fit on a Tacoma, it's the center case width of 11.50" that has me questioning...

They fit just fine, Iroks usually run a little small anyways. They are a great tire if you are off road 90% of the time but if not I'd look for a more streetable option.

Actually, I have been running a variety of swampers over the years and the Irok ND have been excellent on the pavement. But you are right for the most part, most of their tread designs are loud and proud going down the highway. The ND's have been quieter than the rest and have good snow pack manners.

The big question was the fitting of these tires, thanks for the clarification.

Do you not like your current tires? Or do you just want taller tires?

Mainly taller, and more aggressive. Looking for chick magnet tires.:D
The Toyo's are fine on the street, and were ok off road, there is definitely room for improvement.

That did cross my mind, but If I go that far, I'm taking the 37's off the Scout and using them on the Taco, part out the Scout, and use the money for a SAS, re-gear, and lockers:D

Sounds like a great plan! :D

What axle under the scout? Do you have a build anywhere for it?

    Wouldn't a 1st gen on 37 be sick though?

Haha, not just yet, talking shop here is all, have to wait at least 2 more months before I can spend money on things like this. It did get me thinking though.

Scout has a front Dana 44, Detroit locked with hardened axle shafts.
The diff happens to be on the passenger side though...:(
There is this Dana 60 in the rear though, also Detroit locked with 1.50" Moser Engineering shafts... 4.56 gears too.
I built the thing right, I have just lost interest in it. I've been wheeling it 18+ years now, the body is rusting off the frame, the Dana 20 transfer case said "I'm done" on it's last trip out and has been problematic for a few years now anyway. Has a solid running Chevy 350, throttle bodied and custom chipped to run with minimum smog control and a freshly rebuilt SM465 transmission. Passes Colorado emissions cleaner than the Tacoma.

I'll see if I can find some more pics

Those are 37" Swamper SSR's under the white stuff. I just stopped to take the pic.:D

I'll post some driveway shots if interested, I don't have too many recent wheeling pics. The very first pic with the canoe is how she looks today, I no longer carry the spare gas cans, needed room for that big bitch spare tire on the back to free up bed space for camping and hunting gear.
For now, off to the shooting range to unleash the fury.:quickdraw:

Found these, taken two winter's ago, in the driveway of course:rolleyes:

Almost everything was built by me, I set my own gears, did the tranny re-build, the drivetrain/motor swap, custom wire harness for the throttle body, the SOA conversion, sewed the top myself ( I made custom boat tops in another life, that knowledge transferred over nicely)
made my own leaf packs, cut and rotated the front knuckles 15 degrees for proper castor and driveshaft angles, way too much crap to list. Maybe I should keep it...
A company named Rockstomper made the custom drag link and tie rod. Those are sleeved rods, one rod is inside another. I can jack up the front end from the tie rod alone and it don't bend.

Sorry for the runaway Scout pics, kinda got caught up in a trip down memory lane with it. :)
