2006 TACOMA access cab, TRD Off Road

Hi guys;
Great forum here.
After a week of searching and reading I started to tackle my Pioneer AVH-X3600BHS HU.
I have the 6 speed standard model.
I got the bypass switch figured out, radio in and working.
iPod Classic for my tunes.
iPhone works great.
I capped off the extra orange/black wire, and hooked up the orange/white wires. works like a charm.
Only thing I forgot was the Steering wheel interface, Thought I could do without it...but that ain't going to happen. Now I have to remove the radio again!!!
my question is the back up cam reverse wire.
I read all the posts, but am still unsure if that wire into the Pioneer need +12vDC or does it ground to operate the screen.
I am powering the cam separately, just do not want to put 12vDC to the radio if it is not the case.
I even found the red/wt wire. Does that wire actually go to the back up lights or a relay first??
Just trying to be cautious.

 

Ok;
So I figured it out.
I turned on the radio, went to settings and when I got to backup cam..It said you could choose from ground or battery for trigger.

So I crossed my fingers and figuring it was a Pioneer input, it would not hurt to ground it!!!
Camera worked.. So then I switched the setup. Then powered it with 12VDC and works like a charm!!!!
I think I will hook it up so reverse will trigger it, but put in a switch for when I am hooking up my trailer.

Now my only problem is that the BOYO plate mount camera says..do not get wet???? Or use car wash??? What kind of crap is this??

Well finally I have my radio installation complete.
I waited for all my parts before taking the radio back out.

I wasn't going to do the SWC.. but 3 days without it changed my mind!
I still have to tie in to the red/white reverse wire for the cam.
I was hoping to get a SPDT switch that would mount in my dash spaces.
It would be nice to have the option to leave the cam on while connecting the trailer. I just don't want to cut dash to install aftermarket switch.
Seems Toyota does not offer a SPDT switch ( would be way too much $$$ anyway )
Using my friends lift in a heated garage was a great treat for running the back up cam wire.

looks pretty slick! I just ordered almost all of the same stuff, except for an appradio 3. I got the black dash kit too and seeing your pic makes me glad I did. I will be *hopefully* tying into my stock back up came and trying to get video feed from it.

ASWC-1... I read instructions, connected the radio specific wires, turned on ignition and it just installed itself!!! Works like it should. Would no be without it!!!

 

Hey man I'm contemplating installing the same setup you have soon. Anything you'd have done differently/anything more you wish you had? How's the bluetooth and backup cam working out?

I was thinking about installing the bluetooth steering wheel controls as well like this guy did.

Mine got trashed when they gave my 2006 TACOMA a new frame, so I bought this one..VTL275HDL
