    Hey all,

I live in Central California and have been looking for a 2nd Gen Tacoma Double Cab 4x4. I really would like to spend low $20k for a truck, but most I see in that range have 80-100k miles...my question being; Is that too many miles to have a reliable truck? This would be my first Toyota, so I am not sure as I've mainly driven American brand vehicles and 100k+ miles can start to get hairy on reliability.

Should I stay away from higher mileage, even if the truck LOOKS in good shape?

    Thanks in advance...
    AOM

A tacoma with 800-100k is just broken in.

Buying a used tacoma with 80-100k shouldn't worry you. But as stated, make sure you get a good idea of maintenance the past owner did to it.

Good thing I love regular cabs, you can get a reg cab 4x4 for less then $24k brand new. But as stated before, 100k isn't much for a yota if it's been taken care of. Heck, my 93 only has 126k on it. Too bad it's rusty :(

Thanks for the feedback all. I wasn't sure about the mileage...and convincing the Wifey about a higher mileage truck is my biggest challenge!
