why don't you go out to your truck and measure? an air impact gun can also really speed the job up...

Cut them off...... you really should buy new u-bolts anyway.

Any U-bolt that is re-used tends to loosen up and can't hold the torque. You're far better off buying new ones, torqueing them to the proper tightness, and they'll be less likely to loosen up over time.

I don't have access to any type of cutting device. And I am replacing them with new ones. I'm putting in dakar leaf pack.

Do they rent out tools there or would I have to use one of their stalls to use them?

Just use the stalls. Tools are free. To rent a stall is $3 an hour I think

I doubt that it's 10mm unless you drive a Fisher Price toy Tacoma. Haha.
My aftermarket leaf pack uses a 22 mm deep socket. Just an fyi, the torque spec for the u bolts is 73 ft/lbs.

If the stock leafs were made by Fisher Price that would explain a lot. I'm getting ready to go with the HD set from General Spring. I just haven't decided whether to do it myself or let my friend who has a lift do it.

I beginning to think Toyota did outsource the R&D to Fisher Price for the leaf springs. :D
