    Vehicle is 99' Tacoma 4WD standard, 2.7L 4 cyl. 5-speed 3RZ.

I can't find the correct size oil filter wrench cap type at any of my local auto stores and cannot find what the size is either. I think it is 75mm or 76mm. I want to be sure of the size before ordering. I want a quality cap too not a $5.00 cheap one.

I've never been a fan of the filter caps. On any car, truck, bike I've had they always give me a hard time. And then you put the cap on too tight and it's a pain in the ass to get it off the filter after you get it threaded on.

For my truck i like to use one of these With the Tacoma I come in with these from behind the tire, along the exhuast and there's ample room to grab on. Remember, righty tighty lefty loosey.

These are pretty universal as well, so long as you've got enough room for them, saving you from buying multiple caps.

Here is what I like for my 2.7L along with an 8" extension. Fits many sizes.

My dealership sells the correct size wrench and the price isn't that much different than what the parts store sells them for.

The parts rep at my local Toyota told me in an email that his parts list shows it to be 73mm in size so now I've seen this size as well as 75mm and 76mm as to be the correct size. So, I went to the Toyota techs and they said it is for sure the 73mm for this truck and they prefer the cam style wrench themselves. I bought this cam style wrench from AutoZone. The plier type wrench might bang into other truck components while trying to loosen the filter. With the cam style I can just turn it with a 3/8" extension it appears. Appears to be good quality too.
