Not to sound bad here, but you should NEVER carry your SS card or number with you. That card should stay at home. It takes NOTHING to get a birth certificate. Then they could get an ID in her name and cause all sorts of legal issues. Not that they will, but identify theft isn't just about the credit. Is her name on title? With a title, and an ID, they could go to ANY Toyota dealership and request a replacement key. Then they can unlock your truck and wipe it out, or steal the truck at their leisure.

Call LEO, and call DMV and let them know what happened. FAST.

Holy. Not to be a douche but some theif hit the lotto.

Free car (thanks for the title)
    Ipad
And enough info to steal identity and possibly reak havok.

I truly hope this all gets worked out in the best possible way, I also hope you never leave so much in a vehicle again. Even being unlocked, most people don't just try to open vehicle doors unless they see something they want before the door is open. Good luck. Best of wishes. Hard lesson.

I didn't even think about this, but with title in hand, and a false ID, they could get a title loan on your truck.

I dont know of a reputable bank that'll do a title loan on a vehicle, but I'm sure there is a option out there. I truly hope she isn't on the title, they have easy access to her signature and then poof no more new car

    Seriously.. Thanks.

I know, really sucks that she did that. It wasn't her card, just her number on a card.

The title was in my name. So we're good there.
Talked with the dmv, I'm good there
Filed a report with the Leo
Called credit companies and they have a watch on her credit.

Car is in my name so I'm okay.

    Learned a valuable lesson.

I was scared of that but they got her id and my name is on the title

    Any update?

IMO, the information stolen is more damaging then the loss of an iPad.

No update. The I pad connected to the internet once. But it's weird it was in our neighbors back yard. But had a radius of 63 meters

Have watches on the credit and everything
