    No you don't. I did mine without. I couldn't find one that would fit.

    There are techniques for removing shocks where you can compress the spring on the truck without needing a spring compressor. It's very effective.

    I have actually done it both ways , and I think not using the spring compressors was easier.

    Ya I've done it that way numerous times. I just wouldn't recommend it so someone with little knowledge of what they're doing exactly.

    Yeah, but typical spring compressors are even more dangerous. Even to an experienced person.

    If this guy has no experience, then he should have a buddy or a shop do the work.
