Seems to have the "shopping cart magnet" modification installed.
Back near the end of January '14 I came across a trade-in at the local Toyota dealership. Someone had a 2011 Tacoma with only 14500 miles on it. It was a 4x2 4cyl. but I was planning on using it for daily work travel so it suited my needs great.

Well, just over 6 weeks later WHAM! Some bonehead rear-ends me at a high rate of speed while I'm sitting at a red light. My poor truck was totaled and now I'm in the market for a new one.

Since newer used ones are rare (and expensive) I figured I might as well pull the pin and get a brand new one.

The 2014 4 cyl. engines get a little less mpg that my '11 one, so I was leaning towards the V6. I'm unsure on the 4x4 vs the 2x4... I recently dumped my Jeep Wrangler that I had forever and I don't know if it would be worth the extra $$$.

I'm trying to decide of a blue or the spruce mica exterior. Unfortunately, Tacomas are rare at the dealerships in these colors so I may end up ordering one from scratch. The dealers here keep throwing on the clear paint and ToyoGuard packages & I just don't see the reasoning on the ToyoGuard gotcha package.

If I get the V6 I'll be wanting the tow package, automatic, entune package, and either the SR5 or TRD package.

    Any suggestions on other add-ons?

    Thanks!

PS - here's my old Tacoma: bent frame, bent rear axle, busted suspension - what a shame.

Get the TRD packages they have better seats that alone are worth the price.

I'd go for a V6, vs 4 cylinder. The MPG difference is going to be minimal and you get nice brawny V6. Also just my two cents, but I would never buy a 2WD truck. I have the TRD Off-road package, the ride is awesome!!

I'm looking at the Toyota website now. There's several TRD packages. What were they thinking when they created the acronym for the "V6 Tow Package for Off Road Package" as TWAT?

Just bout my first Toyota. Went with a TRD Sport pre runner double cab, magnetic grey. They had to find it for me. I only wanted this particular package. If you don't need 4x4 check out the Trd sport. I love it.

No one with a 4x4 has ever said...damn I wish I hadn't bought a 4x4. However, I've heard people say many times that they wish they had bought a 4x4. My buddy for example got his pre-runner stuck his customer's front yard, even with his locker (trd OR). He was still spinning. His customer had to pull him out. How embarrassing...

I only use my 4x4 a few times year, but when I need it, it's only the flip of a switch away.
