I've been lurking around here for a while now. I've tried to inform myself as best I could, but I was hoping you all could give me some advice.

My '02 double cab, 4x4, TRD, V6, auto trans Tacoma is getting a new frame soon. With the new frame, Toyota is replacing the lower control arms, stock height leaf springs, some brake lines, and the associated hardware. I spoke with the technician and he informed me that I would be able to have them install new suspension parts at no charge. This being my DD and not seeing much offroad time, I don't need a hardcore lift. However, I love the look of the leveled Taco's I see here. I've read the majority of the OME thread, but I can't see any straight forward information on what I'm thinking. I want to know what OME 881's and nitrochargers up front and stock leaf springs with nitrochargers in the rear will do. I don't run any weight in the rear and I'm not planning anything up front anytime soon. Would this be a good setup or should I buy "stock" parts and keep the factory height and ride?

The technician also told me that he'd provide a list of items he'd recommend replacing while he's got it apart for little to no labor charge. I'll take that as it comes. I've got 145k miles on the truck. The timing belt was replaced around 80 or 90. (I bought it at 112 so I'm not exactly sure) What else do you all recommend I get replaced while he's in there? Anything expensive or a major PITA to do myself?

I apologize for the novel. Thank you for sticking with me, and thank you in advance for all helpful comments.

I forgot to mention I'm running 265/70 R16 with no intention of replacing them soon.

if you're not really planning on doing any off-roading then probably stick to stock. could always get a spacer to "level" out the front but truthfully I can't tell from pictures that there is any lean (attached).

keep an open mind on the guy's list as it probably will contain unneeded items. If regular maintenance was done then you should be OK. Maybe change the diff/transfer case fluids, transmission fluid, , and check to see if the water pump was replaced (most do when timing belt since it's right there).

I can tell you from experience ome 881 on my double cab prerunner gave me 2.5". You are heavier up front than me so you will see around 2" of lift. I would either leave it stock or put bilstein 5100 on the first notch or maybe even ome 880.

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
Not a first gen guy, but I would agree with the last post. 5100's set at the first notch for .75" and stock coils. That'll level you up nicely and give you a better front shock. Also get some 5100s for the rear and you should be set. Anything else and you will be looking at more of a lift than you need.
