No more special orders for 2014 Tacos?

First, great forum!

I've been shopping for my first tacoma for the last week. Unfortunately, I've been unable to locate 'exactly' what I want; and according to multiple local dealers, there are none available in the 5 state region to trade for. With that in mind, I asked about placing an order. The dealer that has a model similar to what I want sent me an email today stating "I was informed today that as of March 21st, 2014 Tacoma's can no longer be ordered. There will be a dead period then orders will be taken for 2015's."

Not that I don't trust the salesman (I don't), but I'm looking for confirmation.

Anyone have any insight?

Last I saw was that orders were going to be stopped sometime in April. It could've been changed or something.

 

Wow, that would not be good.
I ordered a 2014 V6 TRD Offroad 4x4 last year in Late September.
It arrived the last day of October.

The dealer did a search thought the Southeast and could not find one anywhere.

usually its april for cutoffs. but you would have to look at Toyota fleet status to determine when production runs ends.

I was on the fence between magnetic gray metallic and spruce mica – finding a spruce mica (configured the way I want it) was the challenge. To make life easier, I decided on the mgm. According to the dealer, the truck will be in Houston at Gulf States Toyota on 3/27 and then make it to San Antonio about 3 days later. Hopefully, it will arrive sooner rather than later and I can take delivery on Saturday.
