I use mine for Google Music, works great. Youtube works well as does Netflix, although with Netflix it did not output surround sound, I may need to see if I have everything setup properly for it.

    Pretty neat device.

I had one, and sold it to a friend, not a device that I found useful with two smart TV's in the house.

I've had a similar issue with mine. It would connect, but the video quality was poor and/or it would run for about 5 minutes, then drop it, pick up, run 5 minutes...

Now that you can stream Pandora through it, I use it mostly for that.

Got one, pretty basic use though. Only really stream pandora or youtube through it. Great for around the house with the GF. We can both connect at once with youtube and make a playlist of songs while we are cleaning or bumming around the house doing something. Imagine it would work similarly at a party and people can add stuff...until someone decides to take control.

Have one, haven't been able to get it to work with Verizon's particular router. Did a search and it seems to be a issue where Verizon would love to sell you their upgraded router so it will work.

We have it and it works great. We pretty much only use it for Netflix and we do have an older Verizon router. No complaints so far but we've only had it for about a month.

I have one. I also have an Apple TV.

It works 'ok' I guess. There isn't much to it if you are only looking to use it for music, streaming HBO Go, Netflix, etc. I use it for the Real player app since I can upload my kids Wiggles and Barney DVD's to the cloud and the phone acts as a remote control (sort of).

The Chromecast isn't as smooth as the Apple TV, but for $35 I gave it a shot.

What it doesn't do is mirror what I have on my phone like iOS does. I have downloaded a third party app called 'Allcast' but I'm in the middle of moving so there hasn't been any opportunities to try this yet. Supposedly that app also allows you to use your Android phone with an Apple TV, but I have never been able to get it to work with my Apple TV3.

Chromecast has a lot of potential.. as they recently made it open source so any developer can add chromecast support to their app, making the possibilities endless and for the price you can't go wrong!

I used mine for the first time recently. It worked well. Has anyone used it while on travel, e.g. in a hotel?

Allcast was around when Chromecast first came out, then Google broke it. Guess the author's fixed it. I tried to use Allcast yesterday, but it was slow with pictures, and crashed every time I tried to play a video or music. Guess the author's got a ways to go before it's ready for prime time.

I'm in a hotel now and it works fine. Of course, I brought my wireless router. I haven't tried on the hotel's wifi though.
