Metra Install w/Pioneer AVH-X5600BHS

Finally got the head unit installed on my 2007 DC! I used the Metra silver textured kit, but the color didn't match the rest of my gray dash. So, I painted it black!

The kit required alot of dremelling around the lower sides of the dash kit and on the tabs of the faceplate trim to fit how I wanted it. Once I got the fit, I glued the faceplate trim to the dash kit. I also wanted to use the factory brackets as the plastic ones did not provide the stability.

I also painted the AC control plate to match the dash kit.

 

Looks good to me. Nice job.

Seems like I had an issue with a Metra kit on an 05 Camry installing a Pioneer AVH4300. Something about how it fit the face (or did not). Ended up swapping for another brand that worked much better.

 

Where did you get the face plate trim?

 

The silver trim came with the Metra kit (silver textured kit).
