I'm trying to decide to go with the usual wire rope or with synthetic for my winch. Does anyone use synthetic here?

Any suggestions? I'm used to working with wire rope, but what are the major drawbacks to synthetic??

    Thanks :)

lots of people go with synthetic cuz its lighter than wire. Less weight for the front end to carry

Just the essentials and no extra fluff.
I would go with synthetic mostly for weight savings. Friction wear is probably the major draw back. Most people go with the hawse fairlead, but I would stick with rollers. If friction is bad for synthetic, then how can a hawse fairlead be good? That's my plan for when I get a winch.

    Edit: Wheel and tire forum?

Pretty much stock with some crap welded to it.
People also go synthetic for safety, if it snaps there's no chance of it wipping into a vehicle or a person
