So I have a 2013 Access Cab that has about 25k miles on it. I am just noticing now that there seems to be something up with the way my body panels/rear quarter panels/truck box fits. So the space between the cab and the box seems to be different on each side. The passenger side looks normal, the driver side has about a half inch bigger gap between the cab and the bed. It also seems to stick out a little further than it should, proud of the rest of the body. Does anyone know how or if I can adjust this? I'll bring it to the dealer if I have to, but if it's as easy as loosening the big Torx bolts for the bed and pushing it around a bit, I'd rather do it myself.

My body is 1/4" offset to the drivers side and my bed is waaaay off to the passengers side. I'm not going to mess with the cab but next time it's dry out I'll loosen up the bed bolts and give it a shove and try to center it up a little better.

So during my lunch I stopped in on my bosses best friend who owns a body shop. He says there are alignment pins that the bed sits in and loosening the bed isn't going to work. He said he would have to pull the bed off and see if the pins were crushed during assembly or if the bed is just welded out of alignment. Anyway, it doesn't seem like it's an easy fix, so off to Toyota it goes.

Have a 2011 DCSB. New the bed was badly out of alignment--front to rear and side by side. All I had to do was loosen the bed bolts and shift the bed to and fro and hither and yon until it was perfectly aligned with the cab and the rear bumper. Bed does not have "alignment pins" unless they changed things after 2011.. Bed if fairly easy to slide around when the torx bolts are good and loose.

I'll loosen up the torx bolts and see if I can move the bed. Be great if you guys are right, I know that Toyota is going to have to keep my truck to make that adjustment.

My point is that the bed is composite Molded. There is No Welding involved. If the mold was screwed up there would be LOTS of screwed up beds.

Either take the truck back to the dealer or loosen the torx bolts and align it yourself.

Are the torx bolts loose nutted on the back or do they thread into something fixed? If they are loose nuts then this will be a 2 person job I would guess.
