Please take a look at the pictures of my rear leaf springs (they are Icon Stage 3 add-a-leafs with the original Tacoma overload leaf installed). Note how flat they are.

Current total weight – 1228 lbs (The weight includes the Leer shell, CBI bumper and accessories (gas tanks are full); a triple battery system, bull bar, Nerf side steps and 7 filled gas/water cans in the back of the truck). This is what my approximate weight would be if I add a planned front bumper, skid plates, sliders and a few other accessories. It does not include additional passengers and any other equipment in the back.

My questions:

1. Is this amount of leaf spring compression acceptable, especially if off-roading (it drives on the highway without any apparent issues)

Or

2. Do I need different rear leaf springs.

Appreciate all recommendations, comments or help.
Thanks!

If you are carrying that much weight regularily you might want to look at Dakars or Expos IMO

You're riding on the bumps. It's going to handle like shit. Lighten the load or go for some leaf springs with more arch in them.

3" lift EIBACH coils w/ 5100's front, OME/ Dakar leaf springs w/ toytec adjustable shackles at 1.5" and 5125's out back. 33x10.5x15 KM2's Relentless DIY steel bumper.
They look completely flat. Do the icons perform better when flat? I have DAKARS and they are at their strongest when almost flat. Also, 1200lbs is a heavy constant load, I would think you need a strong leaf pack like the allpro expos.

For example , this is my truck with the standard Dakar set with my 200lb cap and 1300lbs of timbers in the back and I was just engaging the upper overload and not on the bumps

Thank you all very much for your comments, I guess AllPro Offroad will be seeing some more business from me. Got the U-bolt lift pack and Timbren bump-stops and installed it with the overload last weekend. Only real issue is I like to take the swing-gate and other accessories off and don't want to worry about vibration issues from too much lift although I already did the bearing swap out.

Dakars seem to be real popular. Any suggestions on where to purchase?
