its easy peazy! go to local hardware store and buy some "j" hooks. 4 of them. 1/4" or 5/16" would suffice.

you will notice slots in the bottom of the rail up close to the cab. drill holes in your toolbox where the "j" hook will poke through, with the "j" part engaged in the slot. my truck isn't here right now so I have no pics

Jhooks work fine..just don't overtighten them cause you will crush your bed side plastic cover thingies...you just need to make sure the toolbox can't move easily. Lol

I'm not sure I'd trust them without a support that extends to the bottom of the bed.
Especially on rough terrain, there's a lot of stress on the bed rail with an unsupported side box.

OH yeh your right. I've always had to support them I t may be hard to do with the composite bed. I'm looking at a 2014. In pyrite Mika and some black boxes I think would look. Very good. Plus. I've never seen a taco with them. Before Dbl cab sb

behind the rear seat hi-lift mount bracket, easy-out crossbed toolbox brackets, sliders, ATO plate rear bumper, hood/bed lighting, always-on 12v outlets, dashcam, Viper 5806V w/ GPS
I used j-hooks on my last pickup and toolbox. Never again. It seems like I have to pull that thing out 2 or 3 times every summer and dealing with those hooks and trying to hold everything steady while trying to get that nut to twist off is way too much of a PITA.

I'm making a really solid mount for mine right now w/ unistrut on the front and 3/4" angle iron brackets for the sides. Goal is for it to be rock solid and easy in/out (5 mins or less) for when I'm moving large furniture / appliances around.

I used some Grizzly T-slot nuts and 1/2" hex bolts to mount a section of unistrut to my front bed rail channel that's going to stay there permanently. The toolbox will go up against this unistrut bar and I'll put a pair of 1/2" hex bolts through the toolbox that will go into some unistrut nuts and tighten from inside the box. I'm keeping a 3/4" ratcheting open end wrench in the box for quick install/removal.

I'm almost done with the side brackets. I took some 3/4" angle iron and put three 5/16" holes on top and welded nuts below them. I got some button cap hex machine screws that will go inside the toolbox and screw down into this angle iron. I got a hex key sized for them that will stay in the box. All that's left is to grind them down (I'm a messy welder), clean them up, and prime and paint.

To hold the angle iron brackets to the bed, I'm using the same thing as with the unistrut bar. I'll mark the rail so I know where they have to go in case I ever remove them, but I'll probably just leave them in because they're low profile.

So when it's all said and done, I'll be able to pull out a pair of 1/2" bolts in the front of the toolbox with the wrench, hit 4-6 machine screws on the side with an allen wrench, and pull the whole thing out. Easy in, easy out, way more solid than j-hooks. It's definitely a lot of work upfront and probably overkill, I won't argue with anybody on that.
