spidertrax wheel spacers

I installed my wheel spacers today to "maybe" cure my tires rubbing on my cab mounts...
well the exact opposite of that happend, now my wheels rub even more on the cab mounts and on the front fender....shit.

I cant even pull into my driveway.
I guess im gonna have to sell them

yea no kidding, I guess the tires were tucked in there just enough to rub just a little when backing up, now its terrible!

and I have thought about trimming the cab mounts I just dont wanna have to go through all that hassle.

did you have to do it to yours Mjp2?

 

picture it like a teatherball game. If you have the ball on a 8ft string and swing it while you have people standing around in a circle with a 8.5ft radius, no one gets hit. Now add 1ft to the teather (9ft teather now) and keep the people standing in that same circle, your gona have lots of people getting hit in the jaw.....

maybe i was confused about where it was rubbing, which one of your frinds was getting hit by your balls?

What size tires and rims do you have? Have you ever thought about switching to an aftermarket UCA??

 

right now I have 285-65X18's
so its a 32" tire...and new UCAs wont do anything different for me, its rubbing on the frame, not the control arm.

I wish toyaota would have just made the trucks with the cab mounts back about 2 more inches, that would have been nice.

That might not be entirely true if by "frame" you mean the cab mount. Aftermarket UCA's (I know this to be true on the Light Racing UCA's that I have) are built with the ability to move the wheel fore/aft within the wheel well. I was rubbing like KRAZY before I trimmed my cab mounts and I still rub on the pinch weld and plastic. I'm going to get an alignment and then fold the pinch welds over and finally finish with trimming plastic. I'm just in the "doing my homework" phase before I make any permanent moves.

If you're trying to clear your calipers with new wheels, don't add such thick spacers and your rubbing issues will improve. I added a 5mm (or ~0.200"), made my cab mount rubbing problems worse, but I was able to run the wheels I wanted. Hopefully within a week I'll have everything worked out so you can follow my "saga" and follow suit. Good Luck.

 

my wheels already clear the caliper, i wanted the spacers to clear the cab mounts but they made it worse, I trimmed the plastic and im good there...now comes the hard part.

maybe i should just get some new spindles
