    Hello TW,

I'm considering doing the opposite of what most of you do and that's to take my 13 DC down to 16" wheels from the stock 17" on my Sport. The reason...i'm cheap. :)

I like the tire options better in the 16" sizes and it seems the wheel options are better too for the $ (i'm considering these: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/pcw-52-6783/overview/). I've been searching TW all morning and haven't found anything on this topic.

My question is this...do any of you have experience in going down tire sizes?I'm expecting there'll be issues with my spedo, but that I can deal with. I plan on not going wider...but should I expect any other challenges? Any hints or tips for me or threads you'd recommend for me?

    Thanks all!
    JD

    I just went from 265/70 17's to 265/75 16's.

Love the look and no changes.

wheels size has nothing to do with the spedo.

    it's the tire diameter

I am running 255/85/16's instead of 265/65/17's and my spedo is WAY off due to the tires being 2" taller.

265/70 R16 and 245/75 R16 are stock sizes for Tacomas.

You can use any 16" Toyota 6-bolt rim from a Tacoma, 4-Runner, FJ Cruiser, or whatever; there are loads of them on eBay for cheap.
