This one is simple. If you offroad your truck and like flat black and chrome. Get the off road. If you don’t off road other than normal easy stuff and hate chrome. Then get the sport. I’ve had both and i like the sport better. I don’t off road my truck though and i like the monochromatic paint scheme and fake hood scoop. I also like the ride of the sport with it’s 4 leaf rear springs and linear front coils. It seems to handle on road better and thats where my tacoma lives. This is a decision you have to decide for yourself based off what your needs are for the truck.

Thanks for all the insight guys! I'm calling the dealer in the morning and going with the off road. That's what I wanted to begin with.

Have a TRD Sport. Go with the 4x4 TRD Off Road.

I had an SR5 4x4 (same rear diff as a Sport) in the past, and folks can say what they want about the OR rear end being weak. My OR is oodles more capable than the SR5. A scoop is cute but there's nothing like being able to lock that rear end up when you need it and it's under factory warranty.

Sports are less where Im at, sounds like that dealer is playing games.

    Good choice on the OR.

I had an off road for six years and never once used the locker. You would have to be in a nasty situation to need it. With all the snow we've had this winter I've never even had to use 4wd in my sport.
