My 99' Tacoma has been recently and randomly dying while driving down the road like I just turn the key off. No pattern to it that I have picked up on and no computer codes to say what's wrong. If tried to restart right away it starts up, but then instantly dies again once the RPM's drop again, but if given a small pause (even 30 sec.) starts up just fine and back on the road again. Occurs a few times a week but getting more frequent. Any ideas???

A fuel filter will usually act up if the engine is under a load. Fuel pump? Maybe! Fuel injectors? It would be unusual for all of them to crap at once intermittently. Sounds like an electrical problem to me IMO...

This happened once to me before but my radio and gauges went all crazy then the truck turned off going 65mpg on the freeway. Was not a good feeling. Pulled over, checked it out but didnt see anything wrong. Started back up no problem and I drove it home.
Next day found that a ground wire was loose near the back of the engine bay.

I'd start with the ignition. Sounds like something overheats and then works when it cools off. Computer thinks you're turning the key off so it doesn't say anything. Are you doing the Chevy Cobalt with a ton of keys (honest answer please)? Do you have a lot of after market junk wired up and not on relays? Change the switch and use only the key.
