Ok guys back to this forum hoping for some info! I have a 2000 Toyota Tacoma trd 4x4 auto, bought this truck used in aug, I have fixed numerous things to get it back in good shape. Not to drag on but I've done numerous motor maint, exhaust(cat), trans/motor mounts, etc etc. so onto my problem... Since I bought it the brake lights have not operated (none not even 3rd brake) all other lights work running lights, reverse and turn signals. I'm not getting any power to the rear, checked all my fuses(they are good) per manual checked the brake light switch and it passes has continuity. So I'm not sure where else to go.... On a side note my cruise also does not work. It blinks and does not engage, could these two issues be related? Looking at the wire diagram it seems they are linked. Any info is appreciated!

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
The ground wires for the taillights are good?

If you were manual I'd tell you how to fix the CC but you don't have a clutch

I believe the ground is good when i checked the running light with a multimeter I was getting basically 12 volts, I'm getting good readings on everything but the brake light.

I am having a similar problem with my 2000 non trd manual. My problem is that my brake light fuse keeps blowing and I have checked everything except the ground to the frame but I can't seem to locate where it's at. And I don't have an ohm meter test the plug under the dash to see make sure I am not getting feed back from the ground connection. Any help would be awesome thanks guys

Front dome light added, light reminder added, door chime mod, added 2nd gen 4runner headrests, grey wire mod, 2lo mod, more later.
Do you have a tow package? If so see if you have brake light power going into to the convertor box, if power is not coming out of the box then that's your problem. There has been lots of posts on here lately on lighting problems caused by the convertor boxes failing. The convertor box is needed because the turn signals are on a separate circuit.

If both tail lights and cruise control not working, I would look at the switch at the brake pedal.

Don't want to thread jack so should I start a new thread with my issue?
