On my door jam the sticker says 29psi cold or hot for my tire pressure. I have Bridgestone Dueler's H/T. I just had the 5,000 mi service, tires rotated, pressure checked & oil change. I reported vibration & ask for a road force balance to be done. The tires were balanced by the dealer about 2 months ago & i still had some vibration so i ask the other balance to be done. Why would the dealer inflate my tires to 37psi? What pressure are other owners with these tires have?

If they rotates tires- Check to make sure they are properly torqued...Over or under torquing can cause a vibration.

Not sure why they would over inflate those tires like that. Best way to find the pressure for your tires on your truck is to put a chalk line across the tread, drive about 100 yds, and see where the chalk line wears. If it wears in the middle- too much pressure take some out. If if wears on the sides- too little air up. If it's even- Right on.

the sticker is best all around driving, but more psi gets you better mpg ... to a point. more load = more psi too. My o.e.m.(stock dunlop at20) go to 51 psi , but the normal dunlop at20 is only 41psi max. Any way , i run mine in dry conditions a 42 psi (51 max on tire) unless im off road or snow. Chalk shows a little light on the outside.
Beware, this kinda thread can really get hot!

@ 37psi i'm getting a little rougher ride & my inside rear view mirror shakes where as before i didn't get any shaking in my mirror. I just checked the owners manual & it says 30 front 33 rear.

Over inflating your tires for better MPGs will get you a rougher ride- less rolling resistance but less compliance from the sidewalls.
Conversely- Less air will make the tire more compliant (takes some of the shock of road roughness/obstacles) but it'll have more rolling resistance and lower mpg.

Use the owner manual numbers if you don't want to do the chalk test....

I wonder if it could be a driveshaft bent or missing a weight, sounds odd that a tire wont get out the vibration. My thought is go with the 30/33 you mentioned, 29psi if you want a smoother ride.

    wow
I'll Let my secret out, I do traffic maintainance, paint the road at 10mph. Snow and gravel roads are my specialty on my own time lol, but i suspect the same rollover rule apply there.

on a cool day - not mid-day in Texas in the sun ....
Inflate your tires to the recommended pressure before driving.
    Drive ~ 5 miles and recheck. Pressure should rise ~ 10% ..
ie you were @ 30 cold, you should be about 33 warm.
Underinflation, your tires will heat up more, and be higher pressure warm. Overinflated, = cooler, less pressure rise.
Handy if you have different tires/wheels than stock. It's better to err on overinflation than under.

I ran my truck for a while (when it was new) at 29psi....and honestly? The truck felt really mushy. I didn't like it. I run mine at around 34psi.

To me - it's a truck and its supposed to ride somewhat hard.

I do run 29 cold, around town here, in the summer. It's very hot on the asphalt & wnen hot the pressures probably go up 20%+.

It's a truck, and if I'm gonna haul a real load I'll always add at least 5 or 10 psi. Particularly on the freeway.

I checked my service receipt, dealer states road force balance was done, tech did not notice any vibration. Well it's still there. I drove my usual route to & from work, it's some better after the tires warm up. When the tires are cold both morning & evening it seems worse. I think it's a tire issue. Shouldn't the road force balance tell the tech that or is it just the balance of tires/wheels. This is the 2nd time i've been to the selling dealer on this. I'm thinking about having another dealer check it out.

    Just thought I'd add...

I'd been running 34psi in my stock Dueler H/T's for a couple years now.

Since the tires have 19,000 miles on them and 1/4" tread left...I've been noticing the truck get tail happy in turns when the roads are just slightly wet.

So - I dropped the psi down to 30psi to help with grip a bit.

Looks like next year might be a time for some new tires!!!
