First off, I am a new Tacoma owner and I am thoroughly enjoying the threads here. There seems to be a lot of experience and expertise.

I have a 14 DCSB TRD Sport and when I first start driving the truck I notice a fairly loud ticking noise when I accelerate. The noise seems to lessen when I let off the gas, or after the truck comes to full operating temperature. I have read posts and threads about the "Taco Tick". I am wondering if this is the same thing or (to me) it seems like a loose exhaust manifold since it quiets down after it warms up. My thought is that the exhaust manifold is loose and after everything gets hot it tightens back up. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Weathertech floor liners moded to hold OEM floor mats, weathertech vent visors, Toyota bed mat, LEER 100XL cap, hood gasket mod to stop whistling.
I had that exact problem with my '06, there is a TSB for replacing cracked exhaust manifolds. Not sure if it still applies to a '14 but it was out there in the past.

I would take it back to your dealer since you are still under warranty. There is the infamous 'Taco tick' at idle, but you shouldn't be getting a loud tick while accelerating.

edit: Actually now that I re read the post, it happens at startup and in the early stages of driving. I get the same noise on cold mornings, and since you're in colorado you probably get it more than I do. There was a thread about it that deemed it 'normal'. i'll see if i can find it.
