Good point on just waiting to paint the outside. Fasteners sounds like a nice idea, not sure how I'd do it though. Would make dent removal easy haha.

Yeah I wouldn't rattle can the entire thing, but I'd want some for those touch-ups.

Raptor line it. Get the dye able kind and add the color you want. Spray it on with the gun. And be done.

Can you substitute clear coat with enamel?

Bitch to clean though, wouldn't it? I was thinking an enamel/clear coat/gloss/semi gloss based paint would be easier to keep clean/ Keep the mud and rust at bay.

    Just Raptor it man!

also..no paint you put on there will be good unless you prep the whole cab..period. Prep is like 90% of getting a good paint job. So yes, you'll at least have to take a wire wheel or flap disk or something to scuff up the cab so the new paint has something to stick too. Otherwise it'll all just flake off and chip off in like a year and a half of baking in the sun.

So off-the-shelf rattle can paint for the inside/cage and then raptor the outside.

    .....

    sure why not? haha

although if you raptored the inside..you could just put some plastic over the dash, pull the seats and then hose it all off..

gonna be a lot of sanding though.

This! I just hose the inside of my cab and take a small wheel brush to it then open up the drain hole and hose all the dirt out, dirt and mud doesn't stick to the raptor liner like youd think, a little scrub and it loosens up and rinses off..

As for the Flap discs if you didn't know already Leigh Valley Abrasives has tehm for $1.80 or so a piece! Good stuff to. Unsure if you saw that in the welding thread or not

    Raptor Line is my suggestion.

Easier to get an even looking coat. Far more durable for the stuff you'll be doing to it.

Not that hard to clean. Pressure washer FTW.

I ordered a few of them, for the price they are decent but in no way compare to these http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/...988C-Quick-Change?N=3294179430+7581641&rt=rud

What about your wiring harness running in the door jamb? Or did you move your wiring?

What about it? haha its still there, I typically take the doors off when I start cleaning anyhow. I don't go full retard with a pressure washer or hose, just get the floor wet then add a little soap and scrub then rinse it out

Maybe not, I cant say as I haven't used those before.. and I just realized what you linked earlier wasn't even a flap disc  but I do like them and they last just as long as what ive used in other shops, welding school, jobsites etc so im not complaining

I mean the wiring harness under this piece of trim. There is quite a bit of wiring I would be careful getting too wet too many times. Given they are wrapped up good in a harness but still isnt good for them. I work at a rental place where we used to clean out our vehicles like that until we had a $$$ repair to a vehicle that was denied warranty because of the way we cleaned it, if it can ruin a brand new harness think about a 13 year old harness

All the clips that hold the wiring down are shot and my door trim panel as well as kick panel just pop out so I peel that harness back and lay it behind the seat. no one ever sits in the back seat so I rarely ever have to clean the floors back there
