I finished helping my wife's friends move. Stopped at the gas station and saw a lady standing out side her vehicle with a hanger trying to get her keys. I told her hold on I can slim jim it for her. She said ok that's great the owner has been here an hour.

I thought it was her car and honestly I would not of helped if I saw the guy trying to get into it. He told me some one had already tried to open it with a slimjim and could not get it opened. It was a Honda civic figured its a piece of cake.

Anyways about 5 min in I was about to give up. Tired and covered in sweat to begin with. I pulled the slim jim out and it opened.

To my surprise he went in side and came back out with $10 for my trouble.

I know she probably would not of given me anything.

I thought about that but they both worked at the gas station. They had their uniforms on. He had just got off and could not leave.

Just my opinion, but doing a good thing is never the wrong thing.

You did a good deed... it'll come back to you.

He was a douche and that'll come back to him. Don't let it bother you, bro.

+1 This is what I would have done too.

In MA, probably 1 in 100 motorists would stop and help out.

In NH, VT and ME folks there are super helpful.

Sometimes giving something other than money is a great reward too.

Argh. Some people... That guy clearly had no brains and no class. I have no sympathy for people dumb enough to run out of gas, either.

Op-- you did the right thing, of course. +1 in the karma category for you.
