    Hey Folks,

After 4 solid months of searching, last Thursday March 28th, I purchased my first Tacoma and the feeling still hasn't sunk fully in that this truck is mine. So thought i'd jump on these boards to help let this feeling sink in and introduce myself.

    Quick background:

My first vehicles were a 1992 S10 Pickup followed by a 1997 S10 SS so not entirely new to trucks, but its been a while since I've owned one and this is my first 4x4. My dad steered me in the direction of Tacoma's as he's now owned two (Gen1 & Gen 2) and I really enjoyed driving both so I knew it would be my next truck when the time came.

I developed a fascination with German cars in college and have had that bug ever since. My current vehicles are a 2004 VW GOLF R32 & AUDI S4 AVANT(wagon) so the truck was a third addition turning my daily R32 into a weekend/fun/track car. The wife drives the S4 daily.

    My new to me truck

2011, Double Cab Tacoma, SR5 4x4, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Automatic.

I picked up the truck at 68K miles; it had one owner before me. Truck's history shows it was ordered @ Round Rock Toyota and all its service history was performed there. The truck was definitely used for work as the interior was pretty dirty and the exterior had some scratches here and there, but the body was clean and most importantly, the maintenance was done. I own a detailing business so the interior and exterior issues were not a concern and actually were in my favor when I negotiated price.

    What i've done so far...

    • Changed the oil and filter (OEM filter / Mobil 1 synthetic)
Ordered Diff & Transfer Case Fluid and will be changing that all out this coming weekend thanks to the DIY's I've found on here(can't find Motul locally)
      Ordered Weather Tech Mats
      Ordered aFe Pro-Dry S Filer
Scheduled tinting front two windows (its hot here in TX)

Finally I spent all day and part of Sunday doing a full detail to the truck including paint correction and glass coating of the paint. A quick basic description of what I used to detail with is below in case any of you are curious:

    1.) Cheical Guys Snow Foam
    2.) Meguiar's Clay
3.) Optimum No Rinse (for lube and final wash)
    4.) Microfiber cutting pads
    5.) Meguiar's 105 & 205 (removes scratches and swirls)
6.)22 PLE VX1 Pro Glass Coat (lasts for 2 years)

    Pictures
Apologies for the phone pictures, but once the Glass Coating fully cures I will take some good shots with my DSLR:

Excited to learn a lot from all of you and certainly happy to own this truck. Thanks for reading. :)

Awesome! I used to deliver in Wimberley for UPS while in College. Always enjoyed getting that route.

Forgot to mention that I purchased spark plugs for the truck too (OEM).
