Howdy,
I have been lurking on the site for a while. This site and all the great threads are part of what sealed the deal on me buying my Tacoma. Went from '89 Volvo 760 Turbo to '69 Ford F-100. Was restoring the Ford, eventually decided I needed something safer. I am fairly mechanically inclined and enjoy working on my car myself, that way I have quality control. I am currently in my senior year and college and I am an officer candidate in the USMC.

Bought a 2008 DCLB w/ 180k. new engine @112k in Sep. All work done by Geico. So far, just cleaned up inside (smoker ughh), had to have radiator replaced as trans cooler leaked and fluid mixed into trans. Looking for a new trans, have looked at IPT and the stealership. IPT quoted 4,800 and stealership 4,200. Anyone have any cheaper ideas? I can avoid TC slip if i put in 4 while around town, 40+ is fine in D. May just drive it like that until I HAVE to replace.

Interior-
looking to put WO, Weathertech, red LED overhead(varmint hunting), MOLLE on seatbacks, and behind rear bench. Also may tear out trays under rear bench. I do a lot of backpacking and need space to store gear.

Exterior
Want new 2" lift, suspension is squeaky at 180k, aluminum front and rear bumper, sliders, roof rack, and eventually camper shel or bed rack.

This is my daily driver, I got it because of reputation for reliability. Got a good price on truck so I don't mind replacing parts as they wear, I budgeted for that.
