    All,

Waiting to take delivery on my new 2014 dual cab, short bed and wanted to add the TRD cat back exhaust as a dealer option. The dealership is telling me that it only works for the dual cab, long bed.

Anyone out there can validate that info? I know that there was a change between 2012 and 2013.

Do I have to wait a few months? OR does someone out there already have the TRD on their 14 DCSB? Part #. Any info is appreciated.

From what I've seen they have different part numbers, can't imagine TRD wouldn't produce a part for one of the models. Here are part numbers from the site trdparts4u.com:

    2013 + DCSB - PTR31-35131
    2013 + DCLB - PTR31-35130

I wonder why the dealership is saying that it will not fit the 2014 DCSB? Did they make another change from 2013 to 2014?

Thanks for the part numbers mcbagpiper. I will keep digging.

I don't see why they would. They changed it from 2012 to 2013 by changing a bracket by 90 degrees (which anyone could do with a torch and some leverage) They are just giving you the typical run around because they dont want to be held accountable. Usually those people working the parts counter dont know, how could they really. Its not like they are on all the toyota forums learning every tit bit of information and studying at home constantly from their manuals.

It will fit most likely. Worst case scenario......you have to bend a bracket.

From the various searches I've done for parts I think it simply comes down to suppliers systems not being up-to-date. I just ordered an MBRP stainless single exhaust cat back system and when I contacted the manufacturer they confirmed that it fits the 2014 (i.e. no changes from 2013).

    Here's a site that actually states 13-14: http://toyotaofmcdonoughparts.net/products/ptr31-35131-toyota-tacoma-trd-exhaust-2013

Thanks again, good info here. I will let you know what they say over at the dealership. I had a feeling that TRD would make it for their (most likely) most popular cab/bed combination. I see them all over the place.

I know this is an old thread....
I have a 2012 and am looking at catback off 14. Is this the only change. Just one hanger that needs bent for it to work? I have looked a good bit to no avail. Any description I have found doesn't say exactly the difference. Thanks

I am not 100% sure, but I think the 13 and 14 are the same. Its so hard to tell considering how often they change tiny little things.
