I need to replace the rear speakers in my 02 Double Cab. Is there a write up on here? I haven't been able to find it if there is. Thanks.

Speaker replacement is pretty straight forward: Remove door panel, unscrew speaker bolts (4), remove speaker, Connect new speaker (may require a different connector or just wire directly with a touch of solder), screw in speaker bolts (4), and put the door panel back on. Rinse and repeat on the other side.

If you are unsure about the size of the speakers, go to crutchfield.com to find out the size for your year/model of Taco.

As a side note, rear speakers do not add very much to your listening pleasure. I replaced all of my speakers and admit, I only her like 20% from the rear of the truck at best.

Thank you so much! I was hoping it was that easy.

Both rears are blown I learned when I had a new head unit installed (aftermarket) and he said it's a standard 6.5" speaker. Quoted me $50 per pair.

I now notice the sound seems flat. It doesn't hit you from all sides.

Any recommendations on a decent set of replacement speakers?

You really have to listen to them in action. Hit up a Best Buy or other stereo shop and see what sounds good to you. You should also see if Crutchfield says you need a replacement "speaker holder". I did on my 2nd gen, so I just cut some wood ones by tracing the speakers that come out of the truck. I made 4 and it cost me a few dollars. If you want to go fancy, you can order them from Taco Tunes or other companies.
(You can see mine in my link below).

You've been a huge help. I know nothing about audio or audio installs and you took care of that. Thank you again.
