Gadget says the stock pump is sufficient for the stock injectors. They can only flow so much.

Just went out and checked and it appears that I do indeed have the 7th injector kit. T-connector and all.

Did that guy end up having to buy a stock fuel pump for a hard fix?

Yes, he bought a stock pump and the truck ran great. Then I wasn't out $80 for the larger pump I would need. He was a nice guy. You should be able to get $2000 easy if you make sure everything is included. It took me about 4 hours working slow to get the supercharger installed, so uninstall shouldn't take long. Dropping the tank or lifting the bed will take a little while too.

fuel pumps have nothing to do with the amount of fuel going directly into the motor. They just provide fuel pressure to the system. Fuel circulates at a constant rate through a loop system. A regulator on the fuel rail helps keep the pressure at the rail constant. The injectors then just open when they need to and if all is well, they have fuel in the rail and fuel goes into the motor. Getting a larger pump just means you now mover more fuel through the regulator and rail and back to the tank. You don't need a bigger pump unless the injectors are allowing more fuel to pass through which you won't out run the stock pump unless you have bigger injectors or and additional one like the 7th injector.

The old school trick for fixing ping was a bigger fuel AND MKIII supra non turbo injectors as they where bigger. So you needed a bigger pump as more fuel was being allowed into the motor.

Thing that sucked was you had no real control on how much extra fuel.

the URD kits address that issue much better.

Oh I agree, and when I put my super charger on I'll be using the URD stuff but I also want mine as powerful as I can get it. But I'm just stating there are ways to dial the power down and still keep the charger on. There are always other options. I changed out the turbo on my wed for a bigger one and after a month I switched out the injectors and fuel pump among other things and it ran like a champ.

Everyone is jumping in on this. After putting the S/C and 7th on my truck, I could never go back to stock.
