The spacers are 1.5" and I personally like the 285's I wanna say I paid $150 for the spacers and you need a spacer with the 285's because it rubs on the UCA if you don't and its not a crazy wide stance with just a 1.5" spacer its a clean design. I hope I answered your question.

I just got some duratracs 285's on 17's and had to do some trimming and they fit great. I did do a little bit of trimming and now theres no rubbing.

Hmmmm nobody mentioned 275 65 R17 BFG all terrian......that is what I run......no trimming......no rubbing. One of the main things is not to buy a wheel with a large negative offset or large backspacing. When you move your wheels farther away form the pivot point the amount of room needed for your wheel to fully articulate increases as well, both vertically and in rotation. Stay under a -6mm offset or 4.75" backspacing.

So I want to see if you all think I'll have rubbing issues with my '04 double cab:
Getting ready to add a Bilstien 5100 ultimate lift (2.5-3") and 285/75R16 on factory rims. I'll probably use a 1.5" spacer. Any ideas???

For something a little different I run 255/75/17, which is about a 32.2" tire.

thats what I had On my 4runner , this time around on the taco I went with 265/70/17 to play it safe.

But I kind of wonder what 255/75/17 looks like.

    Have any pics?

hay guys i cant seem to find a tire manufacturer that makes a tire sized 275 on a 17 in rim and now of one and do you think this would held with the rubbing issue with a 2.5 billy lift.

None yet, don't even have the truck as of 01/21/14
I have the 275 70 R17 cooper discoverer AT3 on the way but do not have a lift yet. I'm assuming you have a 2-3" lift with the items you have listed ? I have a 2014 DBL Cab TRD that is stock. I was thinking 5100 at 2.5-3 on the front and a 1.5" aal on the rear to level. 95% driving on the pavement so I don't want to go overboard. My only requirement is a setup that is going to be safe and not fail in short order. Not interested in making huge mods to the suspension for offroad, the maximum lift I require is 2-3" at best. Keep it simple without sacrificing quality, ride or safety ,so a stiffer ride is actually probably safer....IMHO
