I have a Seagate External hard drive that locked up that I would like to get the pictures off of before I discard it. Does anybody have any recommendations?

will it spin up at all? what do you mean by "locked up"? if you power on the device and you hear it try to spin up and then power down in succession or if you hear it clicking while spinning up, you may be hosed.

Contact the manufacturer, you will have the option to send it into them and have them extract the data. Not going to be cheap though. There may be someone local to you that could do it, the process is called "computer forensics" or something similar.

you can try downloading an app called ftk imager from access data. its free to download and a pretty powerful little tool. but if the drive isnt spinning at all, i think you are out of luck.

New Navigation DVD/CD/TV/AV/Bluetooth Stereo and seat mod spacers, 1" hubcentric spacers, seat heaters....
put in freezer overnight, wrapped in a couple of zip lock bags...then hook up and cross fingers

sometimes that will allow one more chance to access your data, be ready to copy and paste ASAP if she comes alive...
