The adhesive that the lights come with didn't always hold as they should, so I install a high strength adhesive tape on all the lights.

As you can see from my long thread, if there is a problem I make sure that it gets solved and the customer is happy.

Got a question for you… I want to install this kit in a short bed, but I want to run the power wires up to the dash board and use a factory switch up by the left side of the steering wheel. Is there enough power wire there to attach to a factory switch up there?

I am interested in getting a cool white set for a short bed.

Project complete! Thanks for the awesome kit. It even had an extra few pieces for the clumsy folks with the fragile parts.
    I'll post pics later tonight.

Hey Matt if I get a light kit how hard would it be to modify if i were to get a toolbox eventually? Or do you think the front lights would still light up the back of the box enough to light up underneath too?

I love mine too. I have a camper but I use it as a shelf for the lighter items like fishing poles etc. and just bungee them to the bed net. Makes traveling a piece of cake. It comes out easy also. About $100 from Toyota but people are always selling them for some reason in the classifieds.

But anyways. Just wanted to say I'm the envy of both my neighbors who checked out my mod yesterday. Thanks again for the quality product, great instructions, and extra install pieces.

Are these light kits designed to connect directly to the battery? Also, does the on/off switch mount in the bed?

    Thanks for the info.

Yes the lights are 12V DC and connect to an inline fuse then to the battery.

Most users install the switch in the bed but a custom kit can be made if you want the switch located somewhere else.

I ordered these and had a small issue with one of the strips. Matt sent out new ones no questions asked. Shipping was fast and happened exactly when he said it would. The package comes with everything you need and has great installation instructions. There is no question this is worth the money, it's a great kit and he stands by it and makes sure you are happy with it.
Buy these, you won't regret it!

Couple of quick questions that may have been covered...

I have a shell on my truck, does the adhesive work ok on the carpeted surface? I assume the best possible location for the lights would be as high as possible on the ceiling of the shell. I would need a little extra wiring to get the lights up to the top of the shell?

I already have a 12v outlet fused and wired w/ 10awg directly to my battery for my fridge, I can just tap into that so no need for the wiring all the way to the battery right? My 12v outlet is in the passenger side cubby in the bed so just put the switch there and run the wire up to the lights seems to make sense right?

Seems like a great product for a fair price - I am sure I could work it out myself but the time and effort you have put into it is well worth it for me

    Thank you for your help

No the adhesive will not hold on the carpet. You could install them on the metal trim for the windows or on the underside of the bed rails as it puts out a lot of light.

Yes I can make you a light set only without the rest of the kit for cheaper. PM me if interested.
