Should I apply the OEM anti-squeal paste between the shim/pad and the shim/caliper pistons, or just between the shim/piston? Using OEM parts on my '09. Would the paste also be applied to the pins?

Generally you apply the anti-squeal grease between the shim and the caliper pistons. Yes give the pins a good cleaning and apply the same grease to the pins. If you're getting noise make sure the back of the rotors are sanded/brushed clean and clean the area around the wheel studs. It is also a good idea to apply a thin coat of grease around the wheel studs and the back of the rotor. That should eliminate any noises you might be experiencing.

OK, thanks for the reply. Will it hurt anything to put a layer of the anti-squeal between the pad and the shim? Will it help keep things quiet?

It won't hurt anything to put a thin coating between the shim and the brake pad. Careful not to overdue the grease however. Too much and it can migrate onto the surface of the brake pads . . . not good.

Anti Squeal is a 'sticky' substance and comes on thick. You'll want to put it in-between the pad & the shim. It won't hurt to put it over top the shim either.

DO NOT put this on the pins!!

Pins need to be cleaned and greased.
