I'm retrofitting a tow package on my 2013 Prerunner V6 to tow a 3500 lb travel trailer frequently in HOT Texas weather. Picked up a HD Hayden trans cooler to install because I understand the importance of keeping the fluid cool during hauls. Is an Oil Cooler equally important to install? I hear almost nothing about an oil cooler in this forum...please advise!?

One other question, do I really need a heavier amp battery and alternator combo or will one or the other do? I have the stock Toyota battery and alternator in the truck now. Going to be traveling about every other weekends and all Summer long especially here in Texas.:)

Any info and insight will be certainly appreciated by this Taco and Towing NEWBIE.

I added a B&M trans cooler to mine and it has helped in the summer. Trans was about 15-20* cooler in 100* last summer.
I also installed the OEM oil cooler, wasn't cheap, but if it helps keep the oil temp lower while towing, then it is worth it to me.

I also installed the 7way plug, but did not add a bigger battery or alternator.
Whenever they go out I might, but it should be just fine without them.
