Rear Leaf Question

    06 TRD Access Cab, Stock Suspension.

    I just got the truck with 133k on it. I'm pretty new to truck suspension (had a wrx before the taco).
    I'm thinking I will need new leafs soon. I also would like to lift the truck a little bit in the future (2-3").

    My main question is instead of getting OEM leafs, could I get some leafs with a little bit of lift? And eventually down the road get Bilstein 5100s for the front.

    For example, if I get Bilsteins later on, how much lift would I want out of the rear leafs to have the truck be level with the 5100s?

    Also, I would rather not have to get new upper or lower control arms. I have heard you don't need them if you stay under 3" of lift.

    Yes, you can get different leaf packs for the rear. I'll leave the details for someone else that knows about it better.

    On the front it seems to be between 2.5"-3" of lift when new UCAs are needed. Some people need new UCAs at 2.5" and some don't. Its hit and miss.

    Dakar and All Pro standard leaf packs give just under 3 inches

    All Pro expedition gives about 4 inches

    Note that the dakars are very stiff, might check out the wheelers HD pack.

    And that dakars are on a nationwide backorder for a month or 2. At least that's what I was told

    My main concern is this: will doing rear leafs that lift my truck give it ridiculous rake until I do the front lift?
    And how much lift do I need on the rear to have bilstein 5100s up front? And have a leveled, ~2.5" lift.

    from saggy old original springs to dakars expect about 4-4.5in of lift. Especially if your current leaf pack is the 2+1.

    mostly stock, grocery gettin' Prius
    I have the Dakar pack plus the D29XL additional leaf. There is a little rake but nothing ridiculous. You can buy the Dakars and always take out a leaf for less rake.

    Getting there...
    I had one overload pulled and it gave me about 2" of rear lift. Yes they are stiff. You can also pull the 3rd spring to get less lift and soften up the ride.
