Hey, I have a 06 PreRunner Doublecab and I'm seriously considering installing a system. I mostly listen to Hip Hop/Rap and I need help deciding which size sub(s) will produce the deepest bass. I know that there is limited air space behind the seats so I was thinking either two 8's or one 10. I am definitely getting a ported box for the sub(s) I just need some help deciding on what size to use.

Thanks any response would be appreciated.

Haha I read the title wrong... I've got bass from the bottom of the lake before... I was gonna say you gotta aggravate them if they're not biting. Good luck with your stereo question!

you might have to get the shallow mounted sub around 600$ didnt think about the space issue. But their are other shallow subs for way cheaper do your research.

Take a look at what this guy just did. http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/au...ire-some-thinking-but-im-going-make-work.html

If you want deep bass in a double cab, this is a good route to go. If you want to do ported, just go with one 12" sub. Pick a good quality one like Sundown Audio or JL or some other high end specialty woofer brand. Feed it with at least 600w and you'll be impressed.

With one 12 will you have enough air space? I know if there's not enough air space the sound quality will be horrible.

Shane hit it right, these subs hit low and hard. I can get some serious bass out of the box I built for the back of the truck. You can go with Shok subs like I did, contact manethon, he'll set you up, or you can get something like 2 Alpine Type R 12's or Sundown SD-2 12"s, anything that will fit back there. I had to stuff the box a little, because the volume calculators put it around 1.6-1.7cu.ft., but it hits low and hard. It's more work than just ordering a prefab box, but you get the satisfaction of doing it yourself, and you get some serious bass.

Icon all around, sick nicks fab front bumper..bfg a/t 275 80 17 on konig counter steer x,all pro rear bumper,5k hid,3k fog lights, rockford fosgate sound system on stock stereo, tints
Don't under estimate the 8 inch subwoofers..there's 8's now a days in the market that'll whip most 12s..with that bein said I've had one 10,one 12,and 2 8s..it all depends in the install, power you're guna throw at it and also a well built box.those new shoks look good.remind me of the old sundown sa8s..as for shallows sundown has there sd 8 pretty beefy looking sub.I currently have 2 sa 8s and I couldn't be happier I recommend them. I'm waiting on the 6.5 sundown subs to drop I'm planning on doing 4 under the back seats.I also like the wow factor Yu get when running small subs..alot of ppl think I run 12s.
