De-badging:

Need opinions from anyone who's done this. What tools, how hard was it. Any regrets, and if could do it again would you have let a detail shop do the work.

I want to go fully sterile badly, but dont want to chip or damage that sweet speedway blue paint. So far I heard Heat with blow dryer, and peel. Plus some work requires fish line...

Any info would be great...

It's very easy but requires a little patience. The only tools I used were a blow dryer and fishing line. There might be a little bit of glue left on the car but it should peel right off.

 

yup,blow dryer and fishing line....then a little "goo gone" if all the glue doesn't peel off.

 

I would recommend against Goo Gone as it can remove some of the clear coat, unless you are very careful and do not rub to hard (that didn't come out right)

Other than that, it's an easy process and I have done it to my last 2 Taco's.

 

How in the F__k did you get your Tacoma sooooo shiney?

 

Thats just driving through a brushless car wash and drying with an absorber..

Remember my truck is only 5mos out of the factory. Delivered to dealer Nov 07, I bought Late Jan.

Yes definately for the people that want to debadge be careful when using the goo-gone i did rub a little hard sucks but hey, all i used was fishing line and i sprayed the googone on the fishing line. you dont need a heat gun or blow dryer.
