OK, here's where I'm at. I am in the process of working a deal with a dealer for a new 2014 DCSB Off Road. Part of the negotiated deal was them installing the Baja suspension per my request. I like the idea of getting the Baja installed from the get go due to warranty piece of mind and I also think it's just the right amount of "lift".

Well, I was informed yesterday that Toyota won't ship them the kit w/o a VIN, repair order, etc. My salesman is currently working on whether or not they can work around it. I am thinking they won't be able to do it. I will know today. I had a feeling this was what was going to happen from reading the "Because Baja" thread.

In the meantime I have been researching which lift/suspension I would go with if the Baja falls through. I am thinking the Icon Stage 1 is the way to go. I am nervous at the thought of any warranty issue brought back on me because of aftermarket lift, etc. I am not saying Icon would be an issue, I know it's high quality, just saying if I have an issue with anything related I could be told it's due to the aftermarket, yada yada...

Anyhow I have a few questions.

    1. With the Stage 1 kit from ToyTec or Wheelers it's COs and rear shocks, and from reading many threads I believe that is all I need since I don't want/need to raise the rear since the '14 OR has the 3+ overload(TSB) leaf pack. Is that correct?

    2. I understand the COs are set at about 2" from factory. If I dial them down to where the front is level with the rear is that an issue?

    3. Do you need to do a front end alignment every time you adjust the COs?

Thought I would note why I want Coil Overs vs OME, Eibach/5100s, etc.

I have already committed my mind and money to a higher quality ride. I had 5100s set at 1.75 on my 2011 OR that I sold to my brother. I liked the ride but I know the Icons would be better.

I get off road a few times a year but plan on that being more. It's nothing hard core but we have a hunting cabin in the PA mountains and it's 6 miles back a dirt road that I do tend to get going 35 to 40 on and a few times it gets squirrelly and passengers get nervous. lol Also if I am out exploring up there and see something I want to tackle I have piece of mind with the better suspension.

While I was typing this the salesman emailed me and said it's pretty much a no go on getting the baja suspension.
