I'm looking into painting my David Clark headset to make it stand out from others. Everyone has the dull green Dave Clarks. Ok, well I'd like to maybe do black. I'm in the Coast Guard so things can't be excentric, however I want to do a gloss black, like, mirror smooth gloss.

This is what I want to use. My thought was any old black. I'll probably use a rattle can of Fusion. At this point I don't care if its flat black. I want to make my gloss out of a clearcoat. I want a really thick clearcoat, bowling ball style. I have Krylon Thick Glaze left over from another project but I don't think it will resist scratches. I throw my headset around alot, and I want a scratch resistant clear coat that comes in a rattle can. I don't expect scratch proof, but anything close will do.

    Ideas?

I may even try to do a candy color... black is already sounding old.

    edit:
