Just traded in my 2005 Highlander and bought a 2014 Tacoma. I have done a great deal of searching on several forums but find myself more confused then before. The aftermarket head unit in my Highlander had an IPOD interface cable connected from the back of the unit to the IPOD that allowed me to keep and hide my IPOD in the glovebox. It charged the IPOD and I suppose turned on/off the IPOD when the units power was switched. My tacoma came with the Entune Audio Plus (no Nav) and instructs me to connect my IPOD to the Aux port in the dashboard. This works fine but leaves my IPOD in plan sight plus does not offer the clean look I had in my Highlander. I have read that there are adapters on the market that will solve my problem but need to hook up to the CD changer port in the back of the unit. Does the Entune have this port? Any and all of your experienced suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I really miss not having a Nav unit and am contemplating upgrading the Entune or purchasing an after market Head Unit (Pioneer, Kenmore,Etc) but am concerned that I will lose some of the features of the Entune. Could I use the same built in Microphone, the Steering wheel controls, Roof Antenna that I currently have if I switch to another brand?

I'm not sure if your is different than mine, but there are 3 options. Aux, blu tooth, or USB. Aux is just that. No charging and you can't control the iPod through the radio. A long cord would allow you to hide it.

USB would charge the iPod and you can control the iPod from the radio. Again, a long cord allows you to hide it.

Blu tooth which is wireless. iPod would have to have the capability. Completely hide it.
