I have not used that particular brand, but it should work. Unfortunately, it is only a temporary fix. The squeak will come back. If this quiets the noise, you know it is the heim that is wearing out and will need replacing.

Here is what I use on my uniball and on the heim.

$14 DuPont Teflon Multi-Use Lubricant Aerosol Spray, 11 Oz.

You do not need to remove the bolt. Just spray around it. The heim surrounds the bolt and is in the bottom of the shock. Or at least that is how my SAWs are.

Any one use firestone for alignment? ??

I always use warren automotive and am a little skeptical of firestone

 

I use them quite a bit actually. I have their lifetime alignment package for the truck. And I have used it.

Getting a good alignment is more about the experience of the technician assuming there are no parts worn out on your suspension. Unfortunately, you can get an inexperienced tech at any place you go.

At Firestone, If I don't like the results I will persist until they get it right.

 

Yes. Alignment is like $90 or something and a lifetime alignment from them is $200. I've had my alignment checked 7-10 times in the 2 years I've had my truck - for the one initial price.

I've had Lifetime Alignment on my Honda for 14 years now.

All that being said - techs are not all equal. Last time they said they couldn't align it because my steering box was worn out (even though I had no problems) and they could do a new one for $750.

Drove across town to another Firestone and had THEM check it and it aligned just fine. They kind of have a history of trying to sell service/parts that I don't need, so I only use them for oil changes and alignment. I get both done at the same time every 7K.

 

Ok so my honest opinion is, it doesn't look terrible, on the bottom steps atleast, definitely different. Not a fan of the bright ones, grill guards....but what the heck. I only ever make fun of small penises if it's a fatty driving a lowered souped up, pos Honda.

Smart to be skeptical of the passenger-car retail places...if they cant figure out an issue that's out of spec, they'll screw you over, either by throwing parts at it till you're broke or by telling you they can't help you. Not sure if Bear Alignment exists in the PNW, but they were the best at taking care of alignment issues in Colo. Their sign looks like the Grateful Dead bear, hahaha. But they handle a lot of RV and truck alignments, so a crazy out-of-wack caster from a lift, or something similar, is no shock to them.

 

I just need my Honda aligned. But I still worry. Don't really want to push it out a week but I might have too

Ya. Just bought it and it had some suspension work done. Little skeptical of what is left for a tech to take care of. Want it done right. Could drop it off tomorrow at firestone, or wait til Thursday to take it to my preferred tech

yerp - i can tell the alignment is pretty far off.
when i did my tierods on the truck it was probably the same, and the tech had to manually align to even get the machine to do its job.

 

it's rare to find a good alignment tech, in my experience!!
