rear main oil seal?

    So is this the rear main oil seal?

    I did some reading on the forums and I think that's what it is but I just don't want to admit it because I know it's a pain in the ass.

    I changed the valve cover gasket and was hoping that'd be it but it doesn't seem to be the case.

    I degreased on Sunday so anything that's there is pretty new.

    From the front...forgot to degrease that side.



    Also...what's up with those two bolts? Shouldn't it go all the way through with a nut on the other side? Just looks weird.
