Got a 2013 Tacoma SR5 4x4 and put on a Northstar 600SS popup camper...so lost the rear view camera. Was thinking about getting one of the license plate frame cameras. Wiring harness on Tacoma is Red,Blue,Black & White and it appears the new camera has only two wires, any idea what wire goes where?
    Thanks,
    Mike

On the truck one wire will be ground, one will be a power line to turn on the camera, and the last will be the video feed.

I don't know what wires are what but it's easy to find out if you have a DMM.

First with the truck off and key out of the ignition, put your DMM in the resistance check mode. Put your negative probe on a bare metal part of the chassis (if you have the chrome bumper that will work, otherwise try to find a bolt that connects to the chassis) then test the three wires on for a "0" reading. That will be your ground wire. You won't need that for the license place camera.

Next, put your key in the ignition and turn it to the "On" position, but do not start the truck. Set the parking brake and put the transmission into reverse.

Now back at the tailgate, set your DMM to the "Volts DC" setting and put your negative lead back on the same chassis point you used before. Then check the other two wires for a voltage. It could be anywhere from 5 - 14 volts. The wire with the voltage will be your power wire and will go to the corresponding wire on the license plate camera.

The last wire will be your video wire, and that will go to the corresponding wire on the license plate camera.

    Hope that helps.
