I understand the Duratrac to be snow-rated. I have had blizzaks on my Subaru in the past and understand it is detrimental to run them in the summer-time? Will this be the case with Duratracs? I am going to be living out of my Tacoma from June until at least Fall. Possibly until the following spring. Likely will be working a ski-bum job this next winter. Might end up in Alaska. Might end up in CO. Chances are it will be in the mountains. I want one set of tires. I want them to be decent in snow. I am going to be living in National forests throughout the summer-time. Should I continue through winter it will likely be in AZ, NM, or CA (Southern) where it is warm. Want a tire which will do well in the snow but don't want a tire which will wear out quickly in the summer. Open to recommendations! Thank you! 285/75/16

Stock as Stock can be with duratracs and a roof rack
all terrain man you won't have issues since these aren't dedicated snow tires.

just run them at a proper psi and rotate them and youll be good

Are you saying BF AT? Or just AT in general? No problems with the Duratracs?

I had Duratracs and ran them here in Texas in 110 + temps no problem. Did not experience any significant wear or anything out of the usual.

the rubber composite is designed for cooler temperatures but I know plenty of guys that run them in the desert 24/7 and have no issues.

I'd imagine you might be able to get +5k miles on them if you lived in below 75degree weather but that kind of goes with every tire.

Repeated heating + rubber = no bueno

Love mine so far, had some winters conditions here in TX (we get ice) and they were awesome. I'm only a few thousand mi into them though, but the research I did led me to believe that they will last.

I grew up a ski bum in Farmington/Durango area, I've succumbed to city life in DFW. I look forward to my trip to CO, in July. Basically, I'm jealous....
