Just installed this Alpine HU in my 07 DC (non JBL). Still using factory speakers. And oh what a difference. This HU rocks. Still planning on upgrading speakers and adding a rear sub. Alpine has a new 8" driver, amp enclosure that will fit in factory organizer behind seats. Becoming available soon, no price yet but me dealer estimates $230 to 250. I already have RCA cables extended from HU to below dash so HU will not have to be removed to add sub. Also added video bypass to allow DVD playback while driving. And got a USB connector mount bracket and installed it inside the cubby hole in front on shift console of left hand side for easy access and a factory installed look. Also FYI my factory HU with 6 disc CD changer is built by Panasonic.

Looks good. Only thing is the volume knob so close in the corner would drive me crazy. But I like the look.

some powered subs are hooked up with a remote wire (blue wire) to the head unit. you might have to take the headunit out for that if you didnt already hook it up. nice headunit, I wish mine had bluetooth.

The volume knob is not as hard to get to as it looks. But I do have steering wheel controls. Also used the Metra brand install kit which HU in mounted to factory mounts and kit faceplate just snaps in around it on to surrounding dash. Plus side is HU angle down a little more than kit faceplate so it help with sun glare.

Looks good. I installed one of these in my wife's CRV as a "trial run" to see if I want to move it to my truck. It's a great sounding unit and made the stock speakers come alive. My only gripe is that it's so dang sloooooooooow. Power up takes a while and there's always a delay in touching screen graphics. I haven't had much experience with many other double dins...are they all this slow?

So now I'm thinking about the Pioneer AVH-4000NEX. The journey continues.

I have a harness for all three preouts and remote starts tucked under carpet to right of console under dash. So when I add subs and amps just need to run power from battery and plug in without removing HU.

Then you're ahead of the game. I've got to run a 4 channel RCA down the side of the cage where the deck is, to the amp that's going under my drivers' seat. Any tips?
